I put my xvi gig 3GS on ebay last dark in anticipation of getting my iPhone 4 on Thursday. Started the sale at $99 and threw out a $499 buy it now (I included my incase slider, original box and equipment, and also ane yr of my squaretrade warranty). Within 30 minutes of it being upward someone did "Buy information technology at present". Needless to say I was pumped. I checked this persons profile out this morning and information technology says "No longer a registered user".

Now, obviously I wouldn't sent the telephone to them until their payment is in my paypal account but is this some type of scam?? I sent them a message and if I don't hear dorsum from them by the finish of the day today I am thinking of only relisting it.

Has this happened to anybody else before?

sadly, ebay is total of such people.

they register, bid on your telephone and so disappear....

there are many theories backside it, 1 of which is removing all the buy-it-now items significant in that location are less phones bachelor, which can push button upward the toll of the ones however going...so, if I remove all phones simply mine, I stand a better take chances of getting a decent cost for mine.

or...simply f**kwits with nix better to practice.

I'd relist it starting at a college price but don't do a buy it now. Likewise, I wouldn't accept whatever "winners" that didn't take whatever positive feedback and I'd put that in your listing. Just say your bid will be cancelled if you have negative or no feedback.

Didn't realize there was an ebay forum as I usually just come up straight to the iPhone one haha. If this belongs there mods please move it.

I don't get how this would bump upward the prices for other phones every bit I can just relist it. Oh well, I approximate I'll put information technology up once more. Cheers for the advice everyone

You lot can't terminate people with no feedback from bidding. You tin say you won't accept the bids but you can't stop them. eBay doesn't let that. Also buyer no longer a registered user means they have probably banned for scamming someone.

I'm non unremarkably a fan of Buy It Now sales, equally you tin can go less than in an auction. But right now with iPhones, BIN is meliorate. Yous should go paid right away - and if not can relist it immediately. In a regular sale, if you don't get paid, yous have to await four days to file against a non-paying heir-apparent, and and so another four days earlier you can relist.
